I’d prefer to keep my real name hidden for now, but you can call me Arrow. I’ve owned chickens for a few years now, but I’m still quite new. Currently, I own six chickens (three adult hens and three chicks) and hopefully I will be adding one to two more into my family. Overall, I’ve owned eleven chickens, two of which even became roosters. I couldn’t keep the roosters, which broke my heart, but I hope they’re happy where they live now.
I don’t breed, or hatch, or kill. I just love having them as pets, and do recommend them! They’re very sweet if taken care of properly, and all have their own personalities, which you might not expect of a bird that can’t fly very well!
My favorite breeds of chickens are: Ayam Cemani, Speckled Sussex, Turkens, Silkies, Frizzles, Cerama and Ameraucana. Quite a lot, I know, but they’re all so pretty!
The types of chickens I currently own: Speckled Sussex, Ameraucana, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Black Laced Wyandotte, Welsummer and Sicilian Buttercup.
Chickens I’ve owned in the past: Turken, Silkies, Frizzle.
(My luck with bantam roosters are 2/3 so...)
