Lethargic Americana, with wet stinky butt.

Emily didn't make it. Her belly felt soft but she also felt thin to me. Her crop was soft and did not feel overly full. She only stood once for a bit but the rest of the time she sat with her eyes closed. She did seem to enjoy some scrambled eggs and electrolyte water but it just want enough I...

Lethargic Americana, with wet stinky butt.

I've cleaned and checked her bottom. Trimmed her butt fluff and have found no maggots. When it looks like she's trying to poop nothing happens but I fear she wasn't eating much. We've scrambled and egg which she is eating a little bit at a time and she's taken a few sips of electrolyte water...

Will do. I did find she had some dried poop stuck so I've soaked that loose and cleaned it away. Would some electrolyte water be helpful?

Lethargic Americana, with wet stinky butt.

I just found one of my hen's who had recently dust bathed rather unresponsive. I picked her up, checked her back side and it is wet. I'm about to put her in an Epsom salt bath. What else can I do for her?

    Duck losing her voice?

We've had just under 14.5 inches of rain in mid Missouri this July alone so I could see how it could be a fungal thing.

Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

We've been busy here with the garden, canning and preserving, kayaking with the family and teaching art lessons. Summer is coming to a close for this teacher so it's back to crazy busy before I know it but it's been a fun and productive summer. I came in today in search of advice for my...

9-month-old mallard hen dragging one leg

That's so sweet of you. I'm sure she can sense that you offer her a safe place and that's why she returns. We put the B complex (dosing is on the bottle) in a little. It if water, 1/4 - 1/2 cup (so we would know she got the full dose) and she drank it all without hesitation.

9-month-old mallard hen dragging one leg

She is doing better. We got a splint for her and gave B complex and she can stand on her foot normally again but still walks with a limp. While it is a big improvement from before I would still like to find the cause of the limp. Good luck to you. I hope you're able to have some luck getting...
