A new mommy to chickens, and a true victim to “chicken math”. I started off with two, one of the chicks died, i got another chick (cause i couldnt let the original be alone) and that one died too. So i got two more chicks (thinking the survival rate might be better in pairs) and all three have made it! THEN!! My original ended up being a rooster, and I think one of the babies is one too, so i couldnt let my flock have two roosters and one hen, so i adopted two oneyear old hens to try to balance it out.
2=5 chicken math!!!
My original: polly turned pauly 14 weeks
Two babies: marshmallow and dandelion 11 weeks
Two adopted: pom pom and lightbulb 1 year

since the two adopted have arrived last week, the pecking order is being established, and it is so funny to watch!
I spend hours watching them and i love it!
