    Chicken is behaving off

She's never laid an egg, and she's got grit and access to calcium. She did not get apple seeds, I am honestly paranoid about them getting any. Her crop felt like normal, and her poop is actually extremely good. The rest are doing really good, though. We... figured out what was wrong. She was...

    Chicken is behaving off

Hi, I'm back again. One of my chickens, an Easter Egger mix that's about 18 weeks and named Seven of Nine, is not doing good. She's behaving strangely for herself; moving slowly, was stuck briefly on her side when I came out, has her wings drooped like shields, and looks to be having trouble...

Why is my chicken pecking me?

Theo sound amazing! I'm currently in a losing fight with Seven and River, becoming their human perch anytime they have me in the run. Some of our older hens, like Buffy and Selena and Artemis, keep tricking us that they'll be broody, then go, "Nah, no thanks." Because we have two roosters, Luke...

Why is my chicken pecking me?

The flock(s) we have right now are actually my first experience with chickens at all, but my husband has had a lot of experience from having chickens himself and his aunt's chickens. I'm an egg rancher myself, honestly. We can't eat our chickens; they're all my pets, and I love them. I dealt...

Why is my chicken pecking me?

Fair. They looked pretty rounded; Seven's seem to be rounded, for sure.

Why is my chicken pecking me?

Yeah. I'll admit, I feel guilty I couldn't really help her? The most either I or my husband could do was be with her until she was fully gone, honestly. We've decided we're definitely gonna take a break from hatching for ourselves for a while, or just let a hen hatch if she wants to hatch so we...

Why is my chicken pecking me?

Just wanted to give an update, but... I don't have to stress, I guess, about Duckie's pecking anymore. She passed from what we believe was her heart giving out a few days ago.

What gender are these two chickens?

Hello! Hoping over here with a question... can you help me ID the gender of these two chickens? They're both Easter Egger crosses, either mixed with a New Hampshire Red rooster or a White Leghorn rooster. They're 13 weeks old. The one with chestnut and fluffy cheeks is Seven of Nine. The...

Why is my chicken pecking me?

I think I'll also post them there, but Seven's dad could have been either our rooster Mr. Snowflake, a white Leghorn, or our former rooster Roo, a New Hampshire Red. My husband says Seven's coloration is chestnut; I'm unfortunately a bit colorblind, so I tend lean towards his judgement on colors.

Why is my chicken pecking me?

My husband named Seven; funnily enough, she was the seventh of the nine eggs we had to hatch. And thanks, I'll see what others also say, but I appreciate the help ID'ing.

Why is my chicken pecking me?

Fair enough! We don't know either, and even my husband's Aunt isn't entirely sure.

Why is my chicken pecking me?

For a bonus, my husband is also wondering if anyone wants to judge if Seven of Nine is a hen or a roo too. She's 13 weeks too, and she's got the same mom as Duckie, Luke, River, and Scooter.
