Thank you for your reply. Yes I will do that, this afternoon I did mix the pellets with hot water and they seem to love it, so I will carry on with that and see how we go...... I feel like a mother hen my self since I have had these dear hens. :weee

Hello, thanks again for replying.you have made me feel better. I've been and got some laying pellet food this morning.. They have turned their nose up at it but this is the third type of food I have bought so they will have to put up with it.. Trust me to get fussy chickens.. Cheers Sue.

Hi, Its a mixed grain., a complete food. I'm going to go and buy laying pellets food tomorrow and try that.. Which it's just pellets :(. The eggs are quite small, I know they only lay small eggs but I think it's because they are still young and not eating very much. Regards Sue

Hi, thank you for your reply. I feed my girls on Alfa mix chicken which is a complete chicken food, suppose to be one of the best in the UK, they seem to pick out the best and leave the rest, I have left them 1 day without topping up but they still left it. from a worried sue.

hi, im new to chickens and Im worried that my chickens are going hungry. the feeders are full, they eat the best bits and leave the rest. Will chickens eat the rest when hungry or do I though it away and fill up with fresh.

hi, i'm new to chickens, i've had my 2 girls a week now,at the end of each day they have some food left in their dish, do I throw this away and give fresh each day or do I just top up.
