- My father introduced my kids to them June 1984 at our ranch in AZ--a gift to my 4yo daughter. Sent 84 chicks overnite from a Missouri hatchery after asking if she'd like them for her 8/8 birthday. SURPRISE!! We scrambled but had huge success: made them a home of an antique steamer trunk til we built coop and they could go outside. Showed them 1985 at the AZ State Fair & my 5yo won Premiums in the adult division-- not knowing about younger divisions. Been in our
ever since. In Memphis TN now.
