I have Narragansett turkeys...they are gorgeous birds, they grow fast, toms 20 pound hens 18 and the hens are pretty too...they are hardy, calm, smart, I also like the Bourbon Reds because they are all of the above...they are good breeders, the hens are wonderful mothers and the eggs and meat...
You can also when you take the spurs off put the stuff used for dogs toe nails when you quick them and they bleed, that way you do not have to worry about infection and flies! OR you could put him in the pot and eat him!!

WOW Marcy your birds look great!! I will try to get some good pictures of the 3 poults I got from you!! They are gorgeous and healthy...the hen Maggie May is also thriving and she lays 1 egg a day. I am thinking about getting an incubator...want a small one because I do not want to raise up too...
I use DE and Amdro granules. They work well. I am going to try the baking soda and sugar...I never heard of that...I have also used bleach and it works!!
