So-so. The vet says she has an inflamed tendon sheath or something. I don't know what the exact translation is. She's been put on a round of anti-inflammatory medication, but the vet says it typically takes a few months to heal. She's still alert as ever, the swelling has gone down and the limp...
We had an extreme cold spell in January, during which I found a little Dutch (?) bantam rooster in a patch of brambles and trees. He looked freezing and I worried he might not survive because of food scarcity and predators, so I tried to catch him, but he's a smart little bugger and just refused...
Hi all
My 5yo Japanese bantam hen started limping a few days ago. She seemed fine otherwise, did everything she usually does (potter around, dirt bathe, run for treats, fly up onto things) and the limp barely seemed to inconvenience her. She doesn't have bumblefoot and there don't seem to be any...
Thank you for your response.
Hmm, yes, that's what I wanted them to do but as I wasn't there, my mother had taken him home and buried him already when I got the news. I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this before because it was so strange!

Oooh, sewing for a living sounds like a dream! I also crochet, but I'm not very good at it yet. I need to practice doing things other than squares and rectangles xD
Hello friends,
It's extremely hot over here 34-36°C and it came very suddenly yesterday. Apparently it's going to last another week. We've never had a summer like this before!
We have two Japanese Bantams, a 4-5yo hen and a 3-4yo rooster who normally roam our back yard and although there is...
Hello fellow bird parents!
I'm a 22yo lady with two beautiful black tailed buff Japanese Bantams, a 4-5yo hen who doesn't really have a name but is amicably called 'fattie' and a 3yo rooster whom I have named Samuel Pepys, but the other members of my family disagree with that name and choose to...
