I used Wazine 17 for one day like nearly 2 months ago bc my hens hadn't been laying. So I used it, changed feed, talked to them about my disappointment...and since they started laying like crazy!
Anyhow I had read that eggs were good to eat after 2 weeks but I've been so paranoid. Bc now I...
Oh I have braggs! I'll add that in!
And we got one of those sprayers for like weed killer and mixed bleach in and sprayed all around. We dumped straight bleach on the areas they were in even though they were caged.
I'll eventually get to breeders probably. It's been mostly for fun and we even have some mixed chickens but I'm just getting more interested in breeds. There's so much to learn still. That is as long as my flock is okay. If anything happens I'm gonna give up.
I have always bought from hatcheries for years. I don't know what I was thinking bc I've never had sick birds. I just gave people too much credit bc every chicken person I had known cared for their animals. Lesson learned just hoping it doesn't bite me any worse than it has.
I am embarrassed to admit this but I've made so many mistakes now..but I didn't get his name. :( I'm just hoping nothing happens to the others. They were no where near each other. At least 20 yrs away but I'm still paranoid. And thank you!
The birds were disposed of quickly. And i have bleached every area they were near and washed everything down. But I'm still paranoid on how long a virus can live without a host if I somehow missed a spot?!
And I didn't let the guy know I'm gonna guess he knew they were sick. And I imagine every...
Update they died! :( l have bleached every where the ground and every thing. Super paranoid! Hoping my flock is okay. A chicken friend came over and said he believes it was a virus that is not airborne but carried by shoes and not being clean.
I have washed everything down well. Bleached what could be bleached. I used to be a nurse aide so I'm using the same precautions I would with contagious people. I'm not going to keep them in a small cage that was just bc it was late when we got home. They are 20 yards away from my flock. I'm...
I took "her" back and he gave me another hen. I didn't want to cause a fuss. The other one looks fine and so does the new hen. I'm hoping with treatment they will be okay. I'm now having panic attacks that my entire flock is in jeopardy. But they haven't been anywhere near each other.
Are you serious? 2 roos?! Should I go back to the sale and say something to the guy. I hate being confrontational but I paid for a pair. And do not want a sick bird!
