They go into the house at night and to lay in the laying boxes. The run is 16 x 4'. I let them out into the yards around 3 pm so they can free range and then put themselves to bed at dusk. I'll send pics.

It's 60 right now so I don't think so although they do seem to be bothered by the breeze. Yes, they had been eating and drinking for the last few hours. They just seem scared. I guess I should just keep transporting them to the run in the daytime for a few more days.
Late today I moved my chicks to their final outside living quarters. As dark came around they huddled at the entrance and chirped constantly as if they were crying to get out (don't laugh). I have been placing them in their run outdoors most days so I thought they would be comfortable outdoors...
My second hand hen house's roost or perch is a 2 x 4 laid flat, not upright. I would like to replace it. What would be an optimal width for the perch itself?
