    Refeathering problem

No, I haven’t wormed them. But I guess her feathers were just coming in slowly and then stalled.

This all makes sense. Thank you for the advice. I’ll take some interim steps until I can rebuild or build an appropriate coop. i really appreciate you all taking the time to help.

    Refeathering problem

They go into the house at night and to lay in the laying boxes. The run is 16 x 4'. I let them out into the yards around 3 pm so they can free range and then put themselves to bed at dusk. I'll send pics.

    Refeathering problem

I only have 4 chickens and one 7 lb feeder. I let them out of the coop most afternoons and spread around treats-sunflower seed and mealy worms- and my bossy chicken just follows this poor chicken around preventing her from eating whenever she can. My hen pecked chicken is just scared to get in...

    Refeathering problem

My gold laced Wyandotte molted in November. Today she has grown very few feathers back. I now see that she has gone from the leader to the henpecked chicken. She is denied food and once the bully, now does not stand up for herself. I occasionally grab her and isolate her to feed her, but she...

    Unhappy Chicks

    Unhappy Chicks

I'm guessing it's the routine, then. They are 7 weeks old...and your last comment makes me laugh. I have an acquaintance who said I worry too much! Maybe I'm the one who's not tough enough.

    Unhappy Chicks

It's 60 right now so I don't think so although they do seem to be bothered by the breeze. Yes, they had been eating and drinking for the last few hours. They just seem scared. I guess I should just keep transporting them to the run in the daytime for a few more days.

    Unhappy Chicks

Late today I moved my chicks to their final outside living quarters. As dark came around they huddled at the entrance and chirped constantly as if they were crying to get out (don't laugh). I have been placing them in their run outdoors most days so I thought they would be comfortable outdoors...

    Kentucky Chick- perch/roost question

Appreciate the advice. I was leaning towards the 2 x 2 but thought I'd ask.

    Kentucky Chick- perch/roost question

My second hand hen house's roost or perch is a 2 x 4 laid flat, not upright. I would like to replace it. What would be an optimal width for the perch itself?
