I am pretty sure my hen has Mareks (though I'm still a little baffled how she could have gotten it) and we plan on euthanizing her. I know my kids will want to buy her. Is that a bad idea if she does indeed have this virus?

Thanks for finding that, but I'm not interpreting it the same way you did. They don't discuss it's use in chickens at all. Just cows and pig. So I interpret that dash to mean, not relevant, since the document isn't talking about chickens.

I was just told by a vet that because we gave our hen metacam we can no longer eat her eggs. Ever. Anyone have any experience with this. I've been googling around and have not found an answer.

My 13 week old hen suddenly started limping. She was totally fine, the next day she wasn't. She hobbled and would fall over. Took her to the vet who said soft tissue injury and gave her Metacam (anti-inflammatory). He felt no breaks or dislocations. No improvement, she seems to have gotten worse...
