    Nessy, I did not say that diamond doves cannot be kept with any other birds. I did not say they cannot be kept with other doves or quail. I said they cannot be housed with cockatiels or other hookbills. Obviously, according to Tony's post, there are exceptions. But I still say its very risky.

    No, you cannot house the diamond dove or button quail with a cockatiel, parakeet, or any other hookbill. I don't know about housing the button quail and diamond dove together. Some people have success housing diamond doves with finches but its risky.

    I have had a female diamond dove for 4 days and it is really awesome. One of the ladies who works at petsmart breeds them and she gave me one free. Petsmart sells them for $40 each, how much would they normally cost from a breeder?
