    Wry neck in adult chickens

Is Wry neck curable or is it something once cured will constantly present itself?

Diapering Indoor Duck, Best Breed? Advice?

Mellisamerry, how did you get your ducks to become so loving towards you? I bought 3 ducks about a month ago and the 1st 3 times i held them they were fine but as the weeks have passed they have gotten where they won't let me hold them without going crazy. I've always been gentle with them and...

Thanks for the reply the welcome. I've had my new additions in a cage in the garage since I bought them a month ago, but... they are growing fast! So yesterday I did buy them a kiddie pool and we'll be building them an outside pen this weekend and hoping to build a little deck with the kiddie...

Diapering Indoor Duck, Best Breed? Advice?

Sounds like you're very knowledgeable on the ducks so I was just wondering how you managed to get the ducks to be so lovey? When I try to pick up or hold mine they just start squealing until I put them down. I just want to love on them but I don't want to upset them.

Yes, they all had the same symptoms. They sounded like they had pneumonia but it was summer and it was pretty dry at the time and they stay locked up at night to avoid predators so I'm thinking it was one of the other diseases chickens get. All but 2 were ones that mommas hatched. I think the...

Since I was last active on this site I've been busy growing and losing my flock. I had 30 chickens and lost all but 11. Still not sure what caused so numerous a chick and chicken death in 2 weeks time. I wanted to try to raise my flock with non HMO but after doing everything I could to save...

    Aggressive Pullets

I might add that if you're not willing to give those away then as I said watch them because you may need to separate them.

    Aggressive Pullets

I'm not expert but I believe they are establishing a pecking order. I would however from my own experience keep an eye on the one that is plucking feathers to make sure they are not actually eating the feathers. It's a bad habit and can lead other chickens to pick up on it and become...

Training chickens to go in at night...

I'm not expert but what I found for me that works is to start out with a light in the coop because I too can't get inside the run. After a few weeks they started not going in, I'm assuming they got use to a light shining outside and I forgot to turn it on one night and I'll be darned if they...

    bow-legged runt?

I had one chick from my last hatching that was a bit bowlegged and read on here where some suggested using a rubber band to hold their legs together for about 6 hours. What did I have to lose but a rubber band? I found a small one lying around which is rare to find any normally. I put it on 1...

Day 22 now, still moving but not hatching....?? HELP!!

I wasn't giving advice I was simply stating that I too was on day 22 as the person was I made a comment to. That impatience is not a good thing when hatching chicks. I also was stating the reason I had a bad batch beings I had an impatient spouse opening the incubator, causing shrink wrap and...
