My drake is limping; foot seems to have cracks in it?

Thank you! We do have their old pen from when they were little; could get him to just sit on his duckbutt and relax if we put him in there. We'll probably try to get him in there and chilling tomorrow. The weather will be nice still and we have an extra waterer we can use.

My drake is limping; foot seems to have cracks in it?

So this evening, we noticed one of our drake's (Chillbo) was limping. By some kind of fortuitous cosmic alignment, he allowed us to pick him up. It looks like he's got two cracks in the skin and a small red dot in the middle of his foot? I ordered some Vetericyn and was going to put honey...

    Ancona Ducks

Obligatory pics :D Our ducks have grown SO big! They're hovering between 9 and 10 weeks old and they've gotten SO big. The brown one is our early bloomer and was quacking quite a few weeks ago, so we are waiting for the others to catch up and reveal their sexes. One of them (Devil Dinosaur)...

They JUST hopped up into the beds today, so I'll need to keep a closer eye out XD I have huckleberries and blueberries and they seem to prefer to mess with the huckleberries more. The grass there is taller and thicker and the huckleberries are lower to the ground. Womp wow. They totally...

    Ancona Ducks

It's definitely a bonus :D Plus, they're such a cute, fun breed! They are going to town on all the plantain, dandelion and clover; I'm just hoping they stay out of the corn patch and huckleberries (right, that will happen ;) )

    Ancona Ducks

Yes, three black, one chocolate :D The sight of the four of them in there was too good to not capture. I got a better pic of them later. Very easy to tell which duck is which, which is great. They're 4 weeks exactly as of today, now that I think about it!

I thought I would post a pic of my babies (who are growing up so quickly XD) We got them a new pool and no, they can't take turns ALL the time. I mean, seriously. They JUST started having their voices crack a bit last week! We're getting some proto-quacks so we should be able to tell...

Here's a pretty recent pic of our quartet! It's been super warm so we've been letting them out into the yard to get acquainted with their future hang outs. I may have gotten too much sun today XD But they had shade and water and PLENTY of greens. It's so funny taking them out because they get...

Just thought I would post a pic of my four babies :D They're a week old and doing well! And yes, they DO make a huge mess! Since the weather is nice we are going to take them out for a supervised swim. They'll be hanging out in their brooder in my office for a bit and they make pretty nice...

Baby Anconas in the house :D

I know! Ugh, I'm in love :D And it is nice being able to tell them apart, right off the bat. I got to meet their parent flock and I'm so glad I picked them. We haven't named them yet but they are getting a nice little pile of nicknames accumulated. Little Brownie/Big Brownie/Brownie, Neck...

Baby Anconas in the house :D

Today was the big day! They hatched on Tuesday and are now home in our brooder, chowing down and making a mess of their water XD (I'll fix that real quick) Oh my gosh! They are so flipping cute! And so happy! I love the sound of them drinking their water and their little peeps! Here's...
