    I'll ring my vets and see if they will but she is crawling with mites looking for a new home now, sitting on clean leaves in the wheelie bin though. My vets are great but they do like their pennies, I doubt they will do a free service but it doesn't hurt to ask.

    Thanks for the replies guys. I had brought her in, washed the mites and scabs off her, dried her gently, dusted her with wood ash, put vaseline on her legs and comb (I don't think she needed it but the other chickens just like it), left her to drink in a warm dark place. Tube feeding scares me...

    I love bullet points so... I kept the five bantams, a pekin cockerel, barbu d'uccles hen, old english game cock and two old english game hens in an aviary along with two red leg partridges and about a dozen or so quail. Three days ago I moved the bantams into a fenced off area in my veg patch...
