What are you baiting with? Have you tried sardines, crack the can and pour a small trail of juice from the opening of your trap to past the trigger on the trap leave the can only cracked and put the whole can in the middle of the trap past the trigger, reason to leave it cracked they can reach...
No, but for me bantam eggs seem to be hard to see a bullseye, I tried checking with some with our other bantam rooster and hens and I couldn't see a bullseye, but they were because we had 4 broodies and 15 new chicks this year, I'm just not good at verifying for bullseye's. This rooster is Black...
We have a Old English Game Bantam rooster he is 9 months old, I never see him mating or do a mating dance, he is the only rooster with 6 hens???? He is real laid back, he alerts the hens, feeds them and seems to have taken on the role of head rooster, just never see him mate.

You are 100% correct about wood waste demoing pallets, how well did your wood chipper work? I have been thinking about a wood chipper, use a lot of pine shavings in the coop and run, can you chip small tree limbs with yours, what size wood ?

Just completed our pallet coop, all used material other than pressure treated 2x4s on the ground, pallet wood is not for the faint at heart, it takes a lot of time demoing and trying to make odd pieces work into the build, you also loose at least 20% of your pallet from it busting while...
I'm not an expert but I think it's trial and error, some are more excepting than others, my experience you will know pretty quickly, the head pecking and trying to move them out of their space.
