I Am looking for silkie or frizzle chicks, breeder quality in Michigan or northern Indiana, with no luck :( does anyone know of any breeders within 3 hours or so of the Mi/In line?

Some people are clueless. Then there are people who ruin it for the rest of us with poor animal husbandry. I think it should be legal to have chickens in town as long as they are kept to a small number, kept clean and well...
No way would I leave them. Too much can go wrong. The room temp can raise too much, causing brooder temp to go too high. Water can get knocked over or filled with bedding. Lamp could fall...etc., etc. Find someone to keep them for you if you must go away, or take them along.
