    we have a small flock of egg laying chickens plus our main rooster..... our 11 yr old daughter would like to add a goose, any suggestions?

    we love the ladders, so do the girls! we clean them but honestly it is fun to see them use it like a highway! We borrowed the idea from a friend who had them in their coop.

    what breed are these?

    thank you for the thoughts.....we haven't had eggs yet from them (we think!) They are so beautiful to watch. The darker one, Blue, is really quiet a heavy bird...and loves to cuddle. DT, this lighter one is a crazy one! she runs everywhere!!!

    molting hen....

    no she didn't have any other wounds at first but did notice blood from being pecked. She is VERY happy being on her own... she is getting her feathers back nicely!

    Thank you all!!! we have learned and now we have a fort knox!!! we now have 19 hens.....including a couple silkies and araucanas.... so much fun!!!
