Just wanted to update at 11 weeks with new pictures. Unfortunately some of the roosters appear to have different types of combs :hmm mainly peacombs from what I can tell so I’m guessing an Ameraucana or EE got involved. Very disappointing.
Compared to one thats purebred..
Hi all, looking for some opinions on my chicks once again haha. I received an order of Light Sussex chicks 4 weeks ago and now that they’re feathering in I’m seeing some worrying colourations :/ It’s important to me that these will breed true as they’re replacing my existing purebred flock which...
Just adding an update incase anyone stumbles upon this thread like I did. True North Farm sold their parent breeding flocks for Mistral Gris to Tevah Acres in Cherryville, BC.
I hatched and raised my own this year, did the 12 hour on/off with 17-18% crumble after they were done their chick...

Well it's that time of year again, I hatched some breeds I'm less familiar with so I wanted to get some second opinions! Thanks in advance!

CCL Cross?:
I recently hatched a mix of eggs from a local breeder and this chick has me a little confused, the known breeds and crosses are:
F2 Legbar x Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock
F1 Legbar x SP Rock cross rooster
There are other chicks with very clear headspots that I know are roosters due to the...
Hi all, I was looking for some second opinions since it's always been super helpful in the past, this group was hatched on April 26 roughly and all but one are Ameraucana x Barred Rock so theoretically they should be easy to sex but I still have my doubts 😅 their dad was a late bloomer which...
Any updates on what they look like now? I recently hatched a similar sex link and finding the head dot on the blues is pretty difficult (or hopefully all hens 😅)
