    Zombie Egg?!

Two days in a row, all perfectly normal egg, one very veiny looking zombie egg. Still hard, and the egg inside is perfectly fine. My chickens eat layers pellets and whatever else they dig up in their run. Thoughts?

    Many questions about raising chicks!

Thank you so much!! That was all so helpful Another question: roughly how much space does a chicken need? The coop and run are both pretty big, I would say the coop is easily 10 by 15 feet, the run about three times as long. We have twelve chickens now, could that space handle more chickens?

    Many questions about raising chicks!

Hello all! We have a flock of 12 laying hens. Or so we thought. 6 reds are definitely all hens, but 5 babies we bought are coming on 6 months old and 3 are starting to look... Roo like I have witnessed one mount one of the older girls, and one is gigantic, already much larger than the 6 adults...

Not an Emergency...Marek's in the Flock

Thank you so much for your help! I'm hoping it's just something that shows as Marek's but will actually get better of course she was my favourite in the flock! Always the way

Not an Emergency...Marek's in the Flock

Hello! Another Marek's case in denial here. We just moved into a house that came with a very sick chicken. We didn't think she would make it, I somehow nursed her back to health. She spent a few days not leaving her cubby, I started bringing her outside every morning and putting her back every...

    Chicken Needs Help - Updated!

Thank you, my husband and I have been reading up on it and it definitely sounds like the case. We just moved into this house and it came with one sick chicken, bad case of thrush and by the sounds of it also Marek's disease. But I nursed her back to health! She's not the picture of health, still...

    Chicken Needs Help - Updated!

Hello! So my two month old chicken hasn't moved in about two weeks. Eating is very difficult for her as she can't stand, she can't even really sit. She has one leg splayed out behind her and the other splayed out in front. I have to hold her food dish under her beak so she can eat, but she still...

    Baby Girl Needs Help!

Wow thanks so much!! I'm starting to wonder if it's not Mareks Disease. We had two chickens when we moved in here, the fox got the healthy one and the sick one I've nursed back to health after thinking she was a goner. She was very unsteady, she didn't move out of her coop for days on end...

    Baby Girl Needs Help!

She has been eating yes, and she is walking around she's just a bit wobbly. I was thinking I would give her some apple cider vinegar water, but I can add sugar to that also yes?

    Baby Girl Needs Help!

Hello! This hen here is about two months old now, I've had her for about a month. She came in a flock of 6, now all of her sisters are huge compared to her! I was told they were all a mix of "brown layers crossed with a road island red and winedot rooster" but she's always looked so much...

    Canadians check in here....

Hi! I just got a half dozen one month old chicks the other day, they're a mix and super adorable Do you know of any local places to get wood chips for cheap or free? I know there's the co-op but I'm hoping for something cheaper?
