The new pictures really show them off. I would love to have some for my meat bird pen but my incubator is acting up and if I took them we would be back to quail again since my BTW Japanese decided to sit on their eggs.
If they are eating all their feed, I'd just plain feed them more. That is all I can think of. Check out what your friend did differently with theirs maybe.
You are much better off with a killing cone but if you are like me and don't have one yet you can tie the feet together and hang the bird over something (I use my old clothesline), then you can take the bird by the back of the neck and hold it while you slit the front. You need a strong sharp...
This is what I am hoping to do, produce a decent sized bird. Yours may have been small this time but at least they didn't go to waste. I pressure cook and can my older roos. I am two roaming the yard now that need to be done.
I have three Cornish X that I have had since this spring. I am trying to hatch some of their eggs (the roo is a cornish x and 2 of the hens, the other hens are some red hens I got from TSC and an EE). I am very curious to see what kind of bird I will get from them. Eggs in the incubator now.
