    Just an update one of the twins turned out to be one the other one didnt make it they were bothe healthy and had absorbed the yolk just didnt hatch, so thats 18 altogether. Thanks for all the advice, now i need to sex them! Now that is a whole new discussion!!!! :confused:

    Ok so out of 20 i have 12 out, 5 pipped and 3 nothing so far. I actually didnt think i would get this many hatch, i prepared myself for the worst. My first pipped egg which was malpositioned with a side air sack, i left for 36hrs then i thought he must be in trouble, so i pulled the shell back...

    Ok so cant sleep and as i got out one zipped opened yay!! But the first pipper at wrong out i can see now has a yellow membrane, we are now at 23hrs, do i now assist?

    Ah thank you one of the twin eggs has pipped at the wrong end too. Its driving me nuts, the one with the cell on side is at 15hrs now, makes me so anxious but i know the right thing to do is wait, it has air and the yolk so hopefully nothing else is wrong and itll zip out soon!! The chick didnt pip in the air cell, how long do wait for it to zip i have read conflicting advice one says dont go past 12hrs and the other is obviously just wait...

    Compacted dolomite

    So the coop is going on the top of a dolomite pad which drains really well so I don't think I need sand as a base in the run. My question is, is it ok to do a deep litter in there with pea straw, will it still break down even though its on dolomite and not on dirt (sorry might be a stupid...
