    Cracked my first fairy egg

Sharing photos of the fairy egg before and after opened. We did candle it prior so we knew it had a yolk. It seems that my hen is now brooding. I'm not sure it is her but I've received two huge bumpy eggs, then all normal eggs and lastly the fairy. I've been getting between 8/9 eggs daily...

I just gave my bluefish carcass to the chickens. They weren't interested. I'll have it buried and next time try cooking it first.

    Rat snake here again

Relocated up the road to otter cove/turtle creak. It seemed familiar with the area so I'm assuming we'll see herm again. In the meantime I'm going to be sure my chick's aren't in the coop until the 1/2" cloth is placed. That sneaky snake was able to shimmy through the cloth that's up there. The...

    Rat snake here again

She's back and now she's in the coop. Should I worry about the chickens too? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I know they're good for rodents etc but I'd like to be sure the girls are safe. :wee

Have not seen any discharge and her comb looks like the others. If you view my photos it's both hens in the second picture.

I was told they're 1 to 2 years old. They came from a breeder. I didn't go into the area they were housed but I was told there were an enormous amount of girls being housed there. I asked whether they were vaccinated and he said no need. Will post pix. Thanks

Hmm. Not sure which breed the girls are. Brown eggs and they're color is orange/white. A couple of times I've noticed bumpy eggs. Also the gal with the respiratory issue seems to be sleeping on the purch outside of the coop.

Hello. Although we've had chickens for years they weren't my duty to care for since I've always worked many hours outside of the home. Now that I'm not working I am caring for our 10 hens and am enjoying every minute. I've gotten so much information from you all about healthy natural dirt...
