Minimum chick quantities at TSC, RK or online

Good point, thank you. Given that city ordinance where I live is 4 max (boo, but will only be here 5yrs), I'd have thought they would allow a sale of 4. That's another good point though, are TSC/RK chicks not sexed? A good idea if roosters were allowed where I'm living, sadly not.

Minimum chick quantities at TSC, RK or online

True, but at least at the store i can take them home right away :) Are there any hatcheries online then that will sell a min quantity of 2 or 4?

Minimum chick quantities at TSC, RK or online

I went to play with some chicks at Rural King last night and I noticed that their minimum purchase quantity is 6, it looks like TSC is 10. When I come to buy, I can only have a maximum of 4 so has anyone purchased less than 6 or 10 at these stores? I'd prefer not to buy online as I personally...

I can get 4 chickens, debating on breeds

I'll be building my coop later this year with the intention of having chickens again next spring. We are going to get 4 (city limit at the moment), 2 for my wife and 2 for myself. I originally wanted 2 RIR's but now I'm debating getting 1 RIR and something else. These chickens will be pets as...

New coop, planning on basing off a dog run.

I'm not allowed a coop on the edge of the property line according to the local ordinates, which is why I plan to have it inboard of my garden shed. They say it must be a minimum of 10ft from the property line. So it was never my intention to cut any holes in the fencing, I will by building a...

New coop, planning on basing off a dog run.

Hi All, Finally bought my first home, we close later this month so in true BYC style one of my first thoughts (after getting the garage done, I am a petrolhead after all), is to chickenfy the garden! Here is an image, it is approx 60x25ft, with a slight gradient to from about half depth from...

    Best Prefab Coop

I 3rd what the other two say. When I first moved to the US in 2016 my wife got me two chickens to keep my sanity while job hunting and getting used to a new country. I bought a similar coop to that and it didn't even last a PNW winter. The wood swelled up and began leaking, and I had to do a lot...

    Hi from southern Indiana

Thank you all! Sadly I think chickens this summer will be out, due to moving into a new home and my wife expecting our first child in June. I'm hoping like hell to get a coop built for this yr but I'll enjoy surfing around here in the meantime.

    Hi from southern Indiana

Hi everyone, I'm a season chicken owner from my childhood and am FINALLY, 15 years later, in a position to have my own chickens again! I am a member of BYC on Facebook but stumbled across the forum while looking for coop ideas to build so decided to join and wanted to say hello. It won't be...
