I tried the electrolytes, but it passed away. There must have been a reason why it wasn't able to hatch without help.
The egg externally pipped, so maybe there's a chance with that one.
Thanks for the help!
About an hour ago my neighbor came to me with a newly hatched chick and an unhatched egg. Apparently their broody mama hatched a few chicks, but this chick they had to help hatch. They also didn't know if the egg was still alive and didn't have the incubator or tools to hatch it if it is, so...
If I get more good ones later today I'll post them, but while I was talking to my daughter I got the (good/bad?) idea of putting ears on my week-old chicks.
It's harder than I thought 😆
I started my chicken adventures around Christmas when I was gifted two Roosters from my in-laws. Admiral and Commodore, the bros. Immediately, I was ready to start my flock, so I ordered 10 chicks from My Pet Chicken (what if some don't make it?) and 15 eggs from ebay (they can't ALL hatch...

My babies are 6 weeks old now, and so far with help I've been able to determine at least one sneaky cockrel, a few Easter-eggers, possible brown...
I'm going to preface this with "I don't know what I'm doing and everything I learn is from the internet."
I got a random assortment of chicks (10) from My Pet Chicken, supposed to be all female. They are all about 5 weeks old now, but I'm still not entirely sure what breeds I ended up with, not...

Wow! Thanks for all the replies everyone! I want some hens eventually, and have a separate pen already in progress for them. I like the idea of a bachelor pen on the opposite end of the property, away from the hens, in the event I end up with some roosters when I hatch things.
This is all far...
First post, but I've been reading a lot on the forum to try to figure out what the heck I'm doing.
I'm completely new to chickens and roosters, and I currently only have two roosters. These two are brothers and were raised together by my mother-in-law and are named Admiral and Commodore.
I...
