    My girls are very young. They've only just started laying and even though initially there were a couple of eggs in the nest the silly goose wasn't sitting on them?! 🙄😂

    I gently shooed them off the nest with a broom and then covered the nest so they can't see or access it ... They weren't very happy with me but I think we'll be okay ☺️.

I saw a thread that says dismantle the nest and/or remove them from the nest repeatedly, but how do you do that when they're hissing and biting you? Or is it just a case...

    Very informative ... I'd just like to add that if you pick up a hen and she starts squawking, calm her down -stroking her, talking calmly, etc - before putting her down so that your rooster sees that you aren't harming her. He's less likely to react.

    I feel the same way about my roosters ... They're an asset to my homestead. They also sit with me and let me pick them up for scratches ... My hens aren't nearly as friendly?! 😅

    In my experience, cull ... I've had the odd "egg eater" and I've tried all the recommended methods to stop her. They work for a week or two, but then she's back to her ol' habits. So now I just cull 🤷
