My flock recently had something very similar and the exact same symptoms I forgot the name of it but in order to treat it you put Tylan 50 in ALL of the water that the chickens have access to, its a little expensive and you do need a vets permission but it works great. My chickens were also...
Get them something to get under, some dirt to dust bathe in and some shaded areas outside. Then they should come out as often or even more often as they go in, shaded areas are needed outside because if not they could dehydrate but because they have an indoor space they just go indoors instead...
With chickens you just need to hold them and handle them a lot when they are babies anything else doesn't really matter. I did that with all my rooster chicks and now them come next to you and lay down and let you pet them, don't be on top of them all the time but form a friendship.
Hey, I am very interested in 4-5 emu chicks and your adult female emu. Good news is I live in NC so am able to go pick them up but I need to know when they will hatch and how I will be able to contact you to go pick them up. Thanks! I already have a 6ft fence put up, just need to pick up the emus.
Depending on how much the fee is, I think it would be a good idea to get some chickens but honestly if you only get 2 or 3 it would just be cheaper to buy eggs from the store without going through all the trouble of feed monthly, finding someone to care for them during vacation, getting a coop...
All my chickens free range and they do fine, but it also depends on your location. Do you have a lot of predators by your house? is a good question to ask. There is a road in front of my house and my chickens know their boundaries, only lost one chicken to the road in 4 years.
1. Barred Rock Definitely a boy the rest are girls. The Easter Eggers are a very sweet breed but like dogs it also depends on their previous owners, and whether or not they were handled a lot when they were little.
It doesn't matter the breed if its a male and a female they will mate, if you don't want to eat fertile geese eggs you should get a female goose rather than a male goose. Unfortunately unlike other livestock such as sheep cows and goats you cant neuter a male bird.
