Her sour crop seems to have turned into impacted crop, not sure if that’s normal or if I did something wrong but should I start treating her for that instead of sour crop?
Found these online, the liquid one does not specify if it works for chickens or not, just parrots, but it is cheaper and there is less so in not as worried about it going expired before I can use it all like I am with the powdered one. Does anyone know how long the powder nystatin usually lasts...
Thank you, the methods I have found don’t seem to be working yet. She definitely has sour crop, she had some liquid come out of her beak. On the bright side her feet are not swollen any more and look pretty good she just has some lefties up and damaged scales left that will hopefully shed soon.
He passed last night. I do not have a picture but one would was a tear and there was one next to it that looked like a pretty deep gouge. It is likely that he died from internal wounds, especially since I didn’t catch his wounds until last night. I’m definitely checking all my hens over for...
This morning my rooster was sitting by the feeder, when it tried to get him to walk he started limping. I assumed he landed off the roost wrong like I’ve had a couple hens do in the past so I set him up a kennel so he wouldn’t be bothered and would have easy access to food and water. The reason...
No this hen hasn’t had any past health issues. I did recheck her crop and I think you might be right about the sour crop, so I’m finding an article to read on how to treat her for it.
I did apply Vaseline too, the tylosin is because my flock has symptoms of mycoplasma. I’m definitely making sure that she’s getting enough fluids via syringe because she isn’t drinking by herself yet, and I’ll probably give her a calcium tablet because of the gap in her laying. Her crop is...
Just checked on her, she has moved around a bit and is very enthusiastic about the water but she will only drink it when I offer it to her with a syringe, I’m having a hard time getting her to drink the water herself out of the bowl. I did get her to peck at some mashed feed but she lost...
Have her sips of sugar water this morning, She’s still not walking around or moving much but she’s more awake and is acting more interested in my when I check on her, I’m going to offer her some mashed up feed and she if she takes some soon.
Her last egg was two weeks ago, my hens haven’t been laying much lately, she was last dewormed last month, and I will offer her the water mixture and see how it goes.
