thanks for the reply and ive done the food and water. Ive brooded coturnix several times myself so i've got the basic needs covered. Do you think i should bring her, the chick and the remaining eggs to a tub brooder? the heating pad she's by is on and there is now i dish of crushed food and a...
So I have a coturnix quail female in my colony pen who went broody about three weeks ago and sat on a clutch off eggs in a quiet corner of the enclosure. Fast forward to two days ago I go out to my pen and I have a dead adult female... she wasn't showing any signs of being sick just up and...
I have the same problem with one of my girls and i switched to nipples on a 5 gallon bucket with a 50 watt preset aquarium heater. I did it yesterday but im now concerned there not drinking enough,
See... I normally DIY EVERYTHING. lol. but withy the heating I'm so hesitant with electricity. I saw this setup and i just worry about it as a fire hazard.... wiring wise that is. am I wrong?
Really just worried about heating the quail who are on the ground, i got these and am really pleased with their quality and low power.

Took her to the vet today they weren't too much help, they said her crop is empty, no eggs are stuck in her (she has laid yet anyways), and she seems to be molting. Her symptoms seems a little extreme for molting, and she is still not eating and the mucus still seems present and is making the...
