Does anyone know of any treats I can feed my one week old duckling or should he just be on crumb right now? I'd love to give him something new as he wants to eat anything he sees xxx
Just wanted to let you know after such a difficult hatch & and a couple days ... Einstein the duckling looks like he's made it through the first week of his new life ... thank you so much
Thank you xx he's doing well fingers crossed ... don't think he's out of the woods yet but he can finally hold his neck up ... trying to jump and can walk without falling over ... he struggles to hold his neck up when he's sleeping (is this normal) also noticed he's gone really fluffy finally...
He broke free last night ... was worried as still looked weak ... he's trying to stand up now & has made it through the night ...
I'm feeding him duck yolk (hard boiled) mixed with water & he's managing to eat this & drink this too ...
He still is a lot slower than expected ... hope I'm doing...
HE is still attached ... he hatched fully yesterday afternoon .. the cord is slowly thinning and going brown ...
I've been giving him vitamins every few hours ... he's chirping lots and desperate to move ... even though he looks weak he doesn't sound weak ... what should my next step be...
He's been trying to get off his cord for a while ... he's slowly going fluffy ...
What is the best thing for me to do right now ?
(Dripping him vitamins every 5 hours or so)
