    Help me identify these ducklings

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I left the brooder door open Sunday as I was getting fresh food & water. They made a mad dash for freedom. I caught 2 as they were slipping through the 2x4 fence. I figured the other 4 were lost as I just couldn't catch them and had to leave. Was...

    Help me identify these ducklings

Well, looked up Mallard females w/chicks. I see why you said it could be either one! My 6 mo old female duck is definately not a full blooded Mallard.

    Help me identify these ducklings

I just looked up the Rouen duck. Good looking bird. My husband was hoping for a Woods duck but I didn't think so. I have a 5 mnth old female Mallard. She looked different than these, but then I also don't think she's full blooded Mallard.

    Help me identify these ducklings

This is a picture of 6 of the ducks taken a few days later. As you might have noticed, there was a Show Girl in the box with the ducks. They were just to vigorous for her/him.

    Incubators Anonymous

I have 10 2wk old chicks in the Brooder (formerly from the incubator). Said I was done for the year. Was given 13 duck eggs and a Show Girl egg, into the incubator they went. Then I saw my Silver Laced Wyandotte lay an egg so I latched onto it and added it to the incubator. I currently have 18...

Silkie missing fluff, fluff patchy & thin in places.

I feel much better about my new acquisition! That's funny about finding the vent! I've had the experience of finding the pelvic bones beneth the vent to check to see if a pulet or hen is laying. That was fun. Thanks for alll the advice.

Silkie missing fluff, fluff patchy & thin in places.

OK, hope these pictures come through OK. I'm not sure I'm doing it correct. I checked the Silkie over throughly and did not see anything moving on her. I now believe this bird is an adult and female.

Silkie missing fluff, fluff patchy & thin in places.

After reading everything I could find on the Internet I'd come to the conclusion that hopefully it Silkie has (1) mites or (2) is molting. Will post pics soon.

Silkie missing fluff, fluff patchy & thin in places.

I was given a Black Silkie yesterday. Age unknown. Gender unknown. Chick is missing most of it's fluff on it's back. The rest of it's fluff is thin and dull. Any idea what is wrong with this chick. I have it in a seperate cage from other chickens. I'm new to Silkies although I do have 3 - 4month...
