    well i'm glad i'm not the only one! i guess i expected to see all the nests full of eggs on the day they turned 5 months, lol! mine are about five and a week now and i'm checking constantly!

    thanks, that was an informative article. we've attempted to destroy nests before and they seem to just move somewhere else in the yard. that's when we thought they were just ants...now that we know they are carpenter ants we are going to let the pros handle them. i just hate the idea of using...

    it would be part of a service to control the ants where the bait would be refilled every three months, so i guess it would be pretty much constant. we are getting chicks, so yes, they will be confined for a good while before they'll be roaming the yard. we considered doing the bait just once...

    we've recently discovered both termites and carpenter ants on our property (boo!). the pest control guy was here today explaining our options and we made a point to make sure everything would be safe regarding the our chickens (who are arriving next week!). we discussed using bait for the ants...
