Pipped at the wrong end and wobbling like crazy 16 hours later

Sorry, I totally forgot I created this thread. I was getting help in another thread and completely forgot! Here's the thread if you want to recap (https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/594278/thread-formerly-known-as-hatch-day-is-today/35520#post_10145743 ). Anyway, everything worked out...

Thanks, Celtic! Except for a couple of snags, it was a very good hatch overall. 100% hatch rate, not too shabby! Yeah, Champion, I would imagine selling would be hard. I'm giving mine away to coworkers (I'm a teacher and put out a district-wide email before Christmas break that I was...

Thanks for all the help guys! So sorry about your duck, Pyxis. I can't imagine how sad it must be when you are attached to them. Two of my ducklings just got taken home by their new family and I'm a little sad, only had them a couple of days. Five more left, someone will be coming tonight...

Thank you, Christine! He's looking better (first pic). He's fluffed out, but while all the other ducklings are busy running around he just sits in one spot. When I put my hand down by him, he tries to stand up, but can't quite do it. Then, he lays his head down (second pic). I've noticed...

Thanks Coyote & Utah. Well, first I put him in a tupperware container on his own under a separate lamp (first two pics), but he started cheeping up a storm and seemed to try to climb out (actually, first I put him in the container in the brooder, but all the other ducklings seemed to be getting...

I think it may have rolled over and bumped the umbilicus, because there was blood when I went in to check it. I wrapped it in a damp paper towel and now the towel is turning pink from blood. This sucks. I saw something about using corn starch to dab on bleeding areas to stop bleeding, but we...

Ok, got some pics. Is there anything I should be doing? Thinking maybe wrapping in a warm wet paper towel.

Sadly, I think it's not going to survive. He just pushed himself out of the shell, but there is blood in the shell and his umbilicus area is hugely swollen. He's lying on his side and having breathing spasms. I'll get a pic in a minute when I can bear to look again. It's a little upsetting.

Good morning! Well, our last duckling still isn't out yet. After we opened up that hole last night, he was able to widen it and appeared to be struggling a great deal. There appeared to be some red blood vessels, or they could have been wrinkles in the membrane. Around 9, I moistened it all...

Thanks guys so much for all your advice and encouragement. We're gonna call it a night and see how that last egg is in the morning, hoping to wake up to a zipped egg and maybe even our last duckling. If not, we'll give it some more help and hope for the best. So, glad this almost over! :)

No more cheeping or tapping from the last egg. I candled again and there was very, very slight movement (looked like the bill trying to breath in the air bubble). Since the pip hasn't changed at all in over 12 hours, decided to do my first ever assist. We raised the humidity in the bathroom...

Took the dogs for a walk and made dinner then went to check on the chick with the yolk sac. It was running around like crazy in the incubator, even spun the last egg around the other way, she was energetic. The sack was in the paper towel. I put her in the brooder and she cuddled up with her...

Ok, this is something I haven't seen yet. This 6th duckling came all the way out of the shell with the yolk sack still attached. I definitely saw the cord running from the sack into the ducklings "belly button". Didn't know what to do, so I wet a paper towel and put the duckling and its...

Thanks Coyote! Number 6 is finally here (see pic), one more to go. These last two were significantly larger eggs than the others, so I guess it makes sense they are the last ones. The only one left has only a little pip, but I candled it about an hour ago and there was definitely movement in...

Anconas are such beautiful ducks and their ducklings are probably the coolest looking I've ever seen. We went with mallards because of the heat in AZ and they are fairly prolific in the wild here, so I figured they'd do well. Plus, we didn't want huge ducks, we have a small yard. If I had a...
