    Are Squirrels a real problem?

We had a squirrel and one of our hens take turns chasing each other. My wife saw it. Said it was really funny. Squirrel would chase the hen than she would stop fluff up her feathers and chase him.

    We hit 5 today!

We also got 5 today for the first time. Our 4 Buff Orpingtons have been laying for about a month. We have 2 RIR's and 3 Black Australorps which were younger. One of them layed our 5th egg today. Just don't know which one.

How long do chickens lay 'pullet eggs'?

We have 4 laying Buff Opringtons about 7 months old. Just wondering how long till the eggs get bigger.

Wasps starting to build a nest in my coop... what kind of pesticide?

Sorry, I don't know any tricks for getting rid of the wasps, but my wife saw one of our chickens catch and eat one the other day.

    Early to bed?

This time of year it's about 8:45 without fail. Though the dominant buff orpingtons have to 'make' a younger black australorp go to bed almost without fail every night.

She has a constant companion with whom they pretty much rule the flock. Her sister was totally beside herself tonight not...

Now we have 5 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds, and 3 Black Australorps. We had 4 Australorps but had to put one down this morning. Had been sick...

    Sick Australorp

We have a 2 month old black australorp who is eating ok, we're not real sure she's drinking well so we've been giving her water with a straw. She is very weak and seems to have little balance. Falls over easily. We have placed her in isolation as we're not 100% sure it's not coccidiosis. Was...

Our first flock, 3 yrs ago, of Buff Orpingtons, one of the girls got a small garter snake and swallowed it down like a piece of spagetti.

    Hello from Tulsa

Hi my wife and I are new members. We are in Broken Arrow OK. We had a flock of Buff Orpingtons about 3 or 4 years ago, but had been out of the chickens until this year. We have 5 Buff Orpingtons, 2 RIRs and 4 what we thought were Black Astralorps (not entirely sure yet if they are Jersey Giants...
