    Both hens have crests on their heads… this fact puzzles me! All were bought as day-ish old chicks the third week of May. Bin was labeled as “Colored egg layer” Stock came from Hoover hatchery

    Up first is my Roo. Single pea comb. Any way to tell what he is? Hoping to breed to other hens as a fun way to get blue/green/olive eggs. Next up is a hen. I think she was the same bin as the rooster. Lastly another hen. Again, from the same bin as the two above… Thanks for any ideas...

    The 10th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!!

    14 eggs set 6 to hatch the Friday before and the rest will hatch Saturday night! My second attempt with the diy PID controlled coolerbator. I have high expectations for a hatch rate:)
