Wynette,
I have not weighed them. Just getting them to eat from my hand. Maybe when they get used to me more. I don't want them thinking like I'm a predator. I'll keep you posted.
First time out in the yard. Prince Galliant and his now three hen larger harem. Three pullets
and the cockerel are 11 months now from Wynette's eggs. The splash hen and two blues are
3 yrs old now. The black pullet is very nice along with the splash hen. Two blue pullets are
finishing a molt...
I like the splashes like him, and the blues. I have a black cockerel that is recoopping [no pun intended] from a racoon attack, in another coop. He is very nice also, just not my favorite color. The birds in the background of some of the pics are my original JGs.
I got this in an email, thought it was funny.
Old Butch
John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced...
Soaring, I am working on that very thing. For two years now really. I have a busy schedule and a short window to hatch. Just made room for some new birds. I can't wait.
