I can't find the thread I used as reference during last hatch so sorry if this is a repeated question!
My chicks are nearly 3 weeks old and I'm wondering when I can start to wean them off the heat.
I have been switching the Ecoglow off during the day for the last couple of days and...
I lost a chick that was 9 days old today after her infected yolk sac ruptured. Thank you for the information as I didn't know what I was dealing with. It was absoutely horrid but she did have a funny smell about her for a couple of days. She would eat okay one day then avoid food and water...
Bought from a rare breeds farm last year in Kent, Kes is a very striking bird. She has a black/green shimmerly plumage (oil slick like), with the most amazing deep black eyes. The whole eye is black, so she has a beautiful soft stare. Her eyes seem much bigger than the other hens. She has a...
Thank you for your reply! All I need now is to find him a good home as he is a noisy so and so (compared to the white/black polish cock). He is handreared and really really gentle and tame, really sad to see him go...................................

Sold as a frizzle polish egg, but he is bearded (no visible wattles), doesn't have any extra toe, was mainly white until first moult then all these colours appeared! Thanks.
I have tried trimming our polish but as many feathers as I cut, more fall forward from the back and end up blocking the view the same! They have so many feathers!!!!! I so don't want to go overboard. Like I said, it all look okay for the first few minutes and then more just fill the gaps!
Yep now at 10 weeks and he is definately a Cockerel. Behaviour was there from the beginning and as luck would have it, was the only male!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very informative thanks. My polish chicks are 4 weeks, one has struted around from the start and fusses whenever we hold any other chick so we will be surprised if it turns out to be a hen! Got lovely pompom heads already, have black and silver white crested and a all creamy/white one we...
