Hatched under a chicken so I am hand raising it. Very tame and perpetually underfoot, it is also quite 'talkative'.
My young Swinhoe's hen is due to hatch a few eggs soon as well.
Medicated feed protects birds from Coccidiosis, nothing more. It will not harm game birds nor waterfowl. I use it for babies and have never had a problem. Feed it as a wet mash.
He may be aggressive with her so be prepared. Ideally, I have been told to remove the male for awhile. If you can't then make sure there is a lot of thick, heavy cover if you can't take your male out for awhile. My Swinhoe male keeps the Temm's male from picking on the girls.
Temm's seem to tame down readily. My guy is so fun. The Swinhoe's I have in with him are starting to notice and are allowing me to see them and get close.
