I have 4 CA quail and 26 or so Jumbo coturnix in a 12'x12' converted barn stall, And I have had no aggression issues, but they haven't been in there a full year yet. They may get more aggressive in the spring breeding season, but I hope to have the 24x24 outdoor section ready by then.
I've been getting 1-2 less eggs than normal for the past week or so, and havent gotten any over the last two days. I'm in the SF bay area, and we just dropped below 13 hours of daylight(6:38-7:36 today).

Mine still have down almost everywhere except their wings, I'm also raising them under a red heat lamp in a room with no windows. I'll take some pictures once I'm done with lunch.

What the hell? So apparently California quail chicks can fly at less than 2 weeks old. Well, they can fall with style and jump up almost 2 feet. At least they're getting used to me grabbing them so only one escape so far. At this rate, they'll be just as good at flying as my coturnix within 2 weeks.
