Yeah I’m keeping him a few more weeks just to see how he plays out. Luckily the woman who gave me him is willing to switch him out for a pullet for me.
Yeah I learned shortly after getting this bird that it wasn’t exactly what I was told. I honestly just wanted a pullet. Was less concerned about the actual breed. Oh well! Live and learn
Ok so I got this bird and was told it was a female cream legbar. Supposedly autosexed but I am new to chickens and haven’t got a clue. S/he is 7-8 weeks old now. And the comb is pinking up so now I’m wondering.... what am I holding?
Whatever s/he is, she’s super friendly. She’s the only one who isn’t scared to just invite herself right up onto my hand or arms lol. She likes to hang. I really hope she doesn’t turn out to be male cause she is a super awesome hang buddy
Her comb is much more yellow in person than it looks in that picture. Her teeny little wattles are starting to pink up though and so is the very base of her comb. But still yellow on top
Looks a lot like my girl when she was a few weeks younger! This is her now
I’m not 100% sure what she is but I was told she was mixed, w possibly a black copper maran.
So what I was told, was that she was some mix, black cooper marans, blue black Orpington... but I am curious about her gold color, where does that come From? Anyway, just kind of fun to see what people think she actually is!
Legs are yellow with a dark wash on the front. I am keeping a constant suspicious eye on the comb, that’s the one thing that’s got me thinking, who are you little one? :P
Ok so this is my 3 week old barred rock. I have two, and this one is double the size of the other, same age, same hatchery. It’s suppose to be a girl, and as far as my novice googling can tell me, the coloring seems right for female, but s/he’s huge, has big ol feet and the comb is much bigger...
