    Chart

I have newer laying chickens that are laying small eggs and am wondering if there's a chart somewhere on here that uses grams for measuring the eggs. I have a book that gives sizing by ounces, but that's not really good enough for sizing them in my opinion. I need to know so I can bake with my...

12 week Welsummer hen with slightly swollen eye

I have a 12 week old welsummer hen that I just noticed this slightly swollen upper eyelid last night. I don't see anything in the eye and no drainage or trouble breathing. Her comb is lighter than the 5 other Welsummer hens of the same age that I have. She's eating, pooping and drinking...

Ok to add adult rooster with 6 week pullets, no hens?

It looks like the next swap is on May 4th. I may go to see if I can find a Welsummer rooster.

    Pullets in northern Illinois

I'm in Kankakee county (South of Will County) and I know there's a poultry swap at the fairgrounds once a month, but it's been cancelled because of the bird flu for the last 2 months at least. I'm going to need a rooster in a month or two because my order from farm and fleet did not come with...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

I'm excited to see how well my Mama Heating Pad brooder is working for my 6 Welsummer chicks! I used plastic wrap instead of press n' seal as I didn't want to spend money on things I have a good substitute. The only thing I bought was the heating pad!
