I can relate with the heat. I live in Bishop and it has hit 100+ all week. I also wanted to find out about eggs, but will check back later. Do you have a problem with a pick-up? I may be in the Reno area in the next couple of weeks.

I would have already had my 16 wk old older chicks off of the chick starter and on the lay crumbles. At about 14-16 wks, I start adding regular chicken food (I combine 1/3 scratch, 2/3 laying) to their starter and gradually reduce the starter over a wk to 10 days.
