    My duck cannot walk

    My pekin, Isabella, has a swollen leg. I dont see anywhere that is... I guess like a pocket of pus. Can anyone help me with this? Her foot is lighter than the other, the blood flow seems bad. On the other foot she has a hard blister but the leg on the other is what is worrying me. Any advice please?

    Constance is the daughter of Nadin, my Belgian de D'uccle bantam, and Jessica Rabbit, my silkie. She has the skin of my silkie but the feathers of her father so she can fly. So beautiful, but all of Nadin's children are beautiful!

    My Nadin, I talked about him so many times, hes just the sweetest boy. I don't think I'll ever love another like I love him. I found out that he is a Belgian Bearded D'uccle... I never knew what he was. Its interesting to know the backgrounds, and hes given me many grandchildren. Grandchickens.

    I use fish doxy, an antibiotic that we use all the time, doxycycline, for lime disease or just about anything. This can be found obviously online or at a pet store. It's saved many of my birds. It comes in a powder form so I just mix some with some cheese

    Im so glad she is doing better, when I looked at the photo it did look like fat, but I understand the distress! I'm so glad she's ok, and yes I've had broody hens that act so crazy- I'll look out for that!

    Ok, yeah I wasn't sure if I should take the black off, I wasn't sure if it was necrotic or just scabs. But I guess I'll soak her in the bath and take it off just to be safe tonite.     I dont think... I did put a cage up for my ducks, I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. I used to let them roam do they could go to the creek and the pond, now they just have a kiddie pool. That fox came every day it's so sad
