Not really. She's stuck with the flock a little bit more since I found a new home for my silkie roo but she's perfectly happy to chill by herself. I'll see her chilling out by herself under her favorite tree while the other 4 are on the opposite end of the yard.- blackrose211

I'm going to be moving into an apartment soon and the plan is to take my Silkie with me. I am working on a small coop and run big enough for two banties that I will have out on my balcony. Give it about another 2-3 weeks. My silkies are 15 weeks old and one of them just started getting his spurs. I was so disappointed. I noticed them about 4 days ago and came to terms with it. Generally, as a breed, silkies are very docile regardless of gender. My roo is sweet. He isn't aggresive but he also won't let the girls push him around (4 out of the 5 are full size breeds so my head hen is still fighting with him a bit). If it's pretty obvious that they are bearded mine must not be, but I will keep hoping. And thank you. I had juliet's name picked out for months but didn't know I was getting two and I picked her up and the name Stella came to mind. I'm hoping I'm clairvoyant and it means she really is a hen. Is there a way to tell if silkies are bearded this young (a month old)? What is the earliest you can tell sex on silkies? If Juliet is a roo she will become Romeo but I'm not sure what Stella's name will be if she turns out to be a roo. Any ideas?- blackrose211
