    Question

Back story. We had a house fire in October. A family member took 15 hens and a rooster. We were on the other side of the county from them. They were kept in a coop, a barn loft, no outside access. The family member was elderly and was feeding them ground corn only and I don't think they were...

I called the office and they were really great about it. even extended the time frame due to the late delivery. I ordered the waterfowl special again...

Has anyone ever ordered from Cackle Hatchery? My wife ordered my an early Father's Day gift and I will be getting 4 goslings and 6 ducklings. Any opinions on hand raising pros/cons vs. letting my very protective gander raise them? I want them tame but I would also like them to be protected.

sad news. I took the other three eggs out, she was staying off the next for more extended periods of time, I think she knew. All three were rotten. I am hoping to go to our local flea market this Wednesday and buy a few baby geese and give them to her and her mate. at least I know she is a...

The worst part is I have three ganders! The other two are both under 3 years old. But he is head honcho around here. So if I don't get any goslings then I will have to take his newly acquired mate from him next spring. His mate of 13 years died two years ago.

Today is day 31 for my goose that is setting. She has 4 eggs under her out of five. One exploded. I haven't tried to check the eggs but nothing is going on. She is a Toulouse and the gander is a large mix breed. Should I let her keep going to say 35? I read that large breeds can sometimes take...
