    Muscovy's

Adding height is another option to give your gal a chance to get away. I have a small fallen tree I rigged up - the ducks can easily fly up on it (they love preening up there) and the drake is too heavy to get up, I have never even seen him try.

    Muscovy Question

My Muscovies are 12 weeks and the males are just barely starting to have longer feathering in the Mohawk area and only when they are alerted/excited about something. Occasionally I can see a tiny hint on the gals when I throw snacks around or they get spooked but not as much. I’m guessing closer...

    Homestead harvest non GMO feed

I've found their customer service to be very fast and friendly. I had a few questions about using this with my ducks and they were very informative. I follow them on instagram now and have started incorporating their feed into our routine. So far so good. We've been happy.

Anyone have "The Bungalow" coop from mypetchicken?

I bought this coop and have been using it for a few months now. I actually found this thread after searching for modifications people may have made to it. It's a decent size for my 3 silkies but they have a large run, So they are only in it at night and to lay an egg. My issue with it is that...

    Sexing silkies!

Hello, I have 4 silkie chicks about 10 weeks old and only 1 has developed waddles. Does this look like a roo to you? We can't have them where we live so I don't want to wait for a crow... hoping someone with ore silkie experience can confirm my suspicion or make us super happy and tell me this...

Sexing your Silkies (PICTURES AND TIPS - Updated July-5-12)

I have 4 silkie chicks a few days shy of 10 weeks old - only 1 has developed waddles and I'm wondering if this is a pretty sure sign of a roo or if you think there may still be hope. 3 of the 4 actually have more mohawk type crests rather than a round puff but these are hatchery birds (one...

    3 Dead - plz help!

I'm hoping someone on here has an idea of what is going on in my coop - I found three dead bantam hens today. Everyone else seems fine, no sign of illness that I can detect. These 3 that died seemed fine yesterday. We have had hard rains the past few days but other than that everything has been...

    Heat wave

For those with experience saving hens from heat stroke/dehydration, how long does it usually take for them to recover? What is the best method of re-hydrating when they wont drink on their own? My 4 year old hen that appears to have this issue since Friday evening has me very worried. I have her...

    Gapeworm treatment?

Thanks for the info Tony. My only local source in tractor supply and I only see ivermectin for injection of cattle or a 5L liquid topical and a apple flavor paste for horses... do you know what specific kind you used? Maybe I can order online from somewhere? As for frequency, I only have two...

    Gapeworm treatment?

Hello Pheasant people! I have 2 female pheasants, approx. 3 years old. I believe one has gapeworm - often shoots head forward and makes a gaping chirp sound. My question is, what is the best treatment for a single bird? Should I treat all my birds (chickens and pheasants) for gapeworms? I've...

    Help help help

    * for prolapsed vent it seems people rinse the area with warm water and apply honey to help shrink it back in - put on a rubber glove and gently help the tissue back inside. - again, Ive not had to do this but this is what i've seen on the prolapsed vent search here on the forum. Some ppl also...

    Help help help

I've not had this happen before but i think I've read of something similar happening with either being egg bound or prolapse - search the forum for those two terms - I'd go with prolapse first since it sounds like the inner tissue is coming out. Best of luck and keep us posted.
