Yeah definetly sounds like they are broody. I looked it up and sounds exactly like them. Even last night when I went to close the coop door those two were still on the first floor nesting, while everyone was at the very top.
I got them a couple weeks ago and was told they were around 2 months, so I am guessing they are now 2.5 maybe close to three months... dont know for sure.
Maybe!! I definetly noticed too of my hens are ALWAYS inside nesting inside now. Even in the morning. When I used to open up the coop to...
Hi! I posted on here a while back, I got bantams (my first chickens ever, I'm new to them). I was told they were about a year old. I had them for maybe a month or so I am guessing. Every day during that time they laid EACH always laid EVERY DAY (I have 5). About two or three weeks ago I got two...
Idk :/ but the person I got my bantams from was in sparks. They had a lot of them, I'm guessing a few dozen. And I know their neighbors had them too. They lived in a pretty residential area too.

I'm in golden valley. We will probably wait until the weather gets better to start our flock so that would work for now until I figure out something for next winter...
So I am getting ready to do my run, my flock will be enclosed in their large coop at night, but I was wondering if anyone has tips to do a run that a cat can't easily get into?? My coop is too large for one of those enclosed dog pens. I have a Bengal and his favorite thing to do is kill anything...
That is a good idea. I don't know if I can convince my husband to build two different runs though. Is it ok to keep silkies with bigger hens like rir's?
