Thanks so much I will check it out!
:)
Here are all three that hatched! Smallest one still closing her eye but I will bathe it & keep an eye on it daily.
Had to bathe one of them as he had poop stuck to his bum and it had solidified into his feathers, so bum checks daily it is! :')
Her feet are fine now she's running around eating & drinking with the others. She's like half their size it's pretty adorable.
She keeps closing that left eye though. Wonder if it needs a wipe or if it could be infected?
She is still alive!
But do you think her eyes look a bit wonky to me? She has the left one (her left) squinted a lot and it just looks more.... bulbous?
She got herself out but I assisted her out as the membrane and bottom half of the shell was stuck to her and she couldn't kick it off, and her head was stuck to the side of the shell.
Belly is all closed up, she's just very weak.
Oh yeah I know what to look for in regards of absorption etc. So I'm fine with that - I was regarding the whole paper towel & keeping the egg moist comments. I was using a piece of wet kitchen roll before but now I took that off and just put coconut oil over the membrane, but everyone's saying...
There's a lot of conflicting information here, making me uncertain what to do.
I think the chick is shrink wrapped. But I've been trying to keep her as moist as possible.
I'll take a photo and post it asap.
Must just be a very late egg then - two hatched two days ago and then one died this morning which was fully ready to leave the egg but never pipped or zipped.
OK but we waited for the other egg in the incubator to hatch and it actually died and I believe it could have been saved if we helped it to hatch. I know it's a long waiting game with hatching but I honestly think there's such a thing as waiting too long to help...
I know that I need to wait...
She's got a damp paper towel over the air sac end where I chipped away a lot of the egg to try find her beak, I also put coconut oil on the membrane. Temp is 37.4°C & humidity is as high as I can get it (I don't have anything to read it).
She keeps yelling/chirping at me SO LOUDLY. How long does...
