Hi, I am a 72 year old, widowed for 8 years and still trying to decide what to do with my life. I have 23 cats and 6 dogs. I also own 27 chickens, not that I ever wanted 27 chickens, but like having 23 cats---it just happens. Over the years I have learned a lot about cats and now I am going to learn a lot about Chickens. I am the mother of 4 children. I am also a grandma and great grandma of several. I have a good size garden and many fruit trees. I have been canning bread and butter pickles and spaghetti sauce. I am not sure why I am raising chickens, I will not use them for meat and trying to sell their eggs did not go well. I think if the Austin food bank will put the eggs to good use, then they can have them. I have been getting between 7 to 14 eggs a day. Then all of a sudden none for 3 days. I cant figure out why.
