I agree with everyone else. Mine follow me around all the time. I hold them, pet them, and talk to them. My dh thinks it is funny because they talk back. I have a picture but I forgot how to attach it to my reply.
I have a bower top hatch and I always have trouble with the humidity. Here in se Texas it is always about 40%. So I have found out the best way for me is not to add water until the three days before hatching. Then the humidity is still hard to get to stay at 50%. I am thinking about getting...
I have a serama rooster that will fight anything. You should see him against a big dog. He will fly up and peck at his nose and then run under neath him and jump at his back. Our neighbors black lab keeps trying to get at the chickens when they are out and he runs him off. He even will stand...
I received my eggs. Thanks HBuehler from Tennesee. They were all intact and I loved the packaging. I suppose that you must have a little one. We got a big laugh and I have a great idea for stuffing my boxes. What a great and nifty use for diapers!!! I will let you know how the chicks...
Mike said that they only catch about 30%. Where are all the dogs in Miami? I have had dogs raid my hen house twice and left me with nothing. The people in Florida don't know how lucky they are!!!!

Rustywoman ~ Congratulations on your first EE egg. How egg-citing!!!! I never forget waiting for my first EE's to lay their first colored egg. I love the breed and the different shades of eggs each lay. I have to laugh that one of my very first favorite EE girls ended up...
These could be purebreed or mixed. I have olive laying EE, Dominiques, Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, and Black Australorpes. My girls are laying like crazy and my incubator is full. Please let me help fill yours also.

I have a couple of ee or ameraucana roos that aren't crowing? The hens hatched at the same time are already laying. Is this normal ? I will try to post a picture later. The eggs came from a seller here if I can just remember which one.
Anyone need a Dominique rooster? I now have three starting to crow. I only have seven hens so I think that one rooster is plenty. I am in southeast Texas.
If you have any more I would be interested. I only have one sussex left, lots of other chicks but she is the sweetest. I could handle six and six to zip code 77571. MY dh has already built another pen for the two turkeys that I have. I am thinking about just incubating all year long. My hen...
I have a brower bator and have been keeping the humidity at around 45 to 50 until the hatching period and then I try to raise it to about 60 to 70. Here in east Texas the humidity is around 40 to 50 without adding any moisture. The couple that I craked open were still wet, so maybe I am giving...
I have one blue slate turkey hen and one tom. She is just now one year old. I have had them together for two months and she will lay two or three eggs a week. I have tried incubating her eggs three different times and would get fully developed birds but they never pipped. I finally got one...
